25 Years in the contribution to the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Since 1994, FSC has been playing an important role in setting up tools which forms the basis for sustainable management of natural forests. To date, FSC counts more than 200 million hectares which are under proper and sustainable management which is a significant contribution to SDG Goal number 15 - Life on Land. Calling for more global actions to avoid deforestations and increase restorations.
The Coastal Forests of Tanzania have been recognized as a distinct Global hotspot for the conservation of biodiversity on account of high levels of both endemism (plants and several animal taxa) and species richness, both within and between the many constituent small forest patches.

Two decades of change in state, pressure and conservation responses in the coastal forest biodiversity hotspot of Tanzania
What did we learn from two decades of changes in coastal forests of Tanzania, which are part of the global eco-region under threats, just like other forest treasure resources around the world including the Amazon carbon lungs. Policy interventions are highly required. Follow the link here.

Loosing battle on Climate Change
Imagine how much Carbon we will be breathing if all the Amazon is gone, if all the forests in the Congo Basin are gone, the boreal forests are all chopped off. Have we imagined on the catastrophic and disastrous we are heading into by just counting money and not the value of the environment?
We are wrong. Totally wrong. Just imagine you hold your breath for not even more than 5 minutes and see how you can suffer from lack of oxygen.
This is exactly what will happen once the fires have 'eaten' all the Amazon forests with huge release gigantic tones of Carbon dioxide locked in them. This will happen exactly once all the ice cover is gone and releasing enormous amount of water to our oceans, destabilizing the ecosystem in them. This will happen once the land is bear and nothing can grow on vast deserts than those in the Mars and Moon.
We are loosing the Battle on Climate Change unless we do something!

New tree species discovered in Tanzania and yet may be endangered
The wonders never ends in the 'biodiversity world' and yet we are loosing much at the expense of human activities. The degree to which eco regional and national intact forest landscapes have been degraded by human activities by late 1990s and beginning of 2000s are appalling causing fragmentation and many loss on biodiversity.
However the good news from Tanzania are received with jubilant in the scientific world. A recent discovery of new species in the Usambara mountain forests is to be celebrated. The IUCN may suggest to include the new species, Mischogyne iddii as a new endangered species. The tree species belongs to the genus Mischogyne and the family is Anonnacea, which grows to small to medium sized trees and shrubs.
